Pre Paid Funerals

Pre-Paid Funerals Plan

Most of us plan ahead – we plan for holidays, marriages, the future education of our children, and of course retirement. Dying is as much a part of life as being born, but most of us avoid funeral planning.

We can discuss with you the best option for your particular circumstances.  All funds are securely kept in a funeral bond until required.  Contributions can either be made as a lump sum or with regular deposits from as little as $50 a month.

The Government has announced changes to the Assets Test that will apply to pension entitlements from 1 January 2017. An investment in a funeral bond, such as Sureplan Gold, is exempt from the Income and Assets Test providing no more than two funeral funding arrangements are held and together they do not exceed the maximum eligible investment threshold (currently $12,500).

Therefore for those affected, an investment in a Funeral Bond for the maximum allowable amount of $12,500 may increase a pension entitlement by $975 per year. For a couple, each partner can invest $12,500 which may result in a combined increase in pension of $1,950 per annum or $75 per fortnight.

Pre-Arranged Funeral Services

There has been an increasing trend for people to pre-arrange funerals to ensure their wishes are met and to ease their family’s burden in their time of loss. Unlike a pre-paid funeral, a pre-arranged funeral does not require payment at the time of the arrangement. It is merely a way to document your wishes and relieve your loved ones of having to decide what it is you would’ve liked. Do you prefer Cremation or Burial, religious or non-religious? What type of flowers you like? Is there music you would like played which has a meaning to you and your family? Pre-Arranging is your chance to organise the service you want.

COVID-19 FUNERAL SERVICES UPDATE.

From Sunday 14th June, effective immediately, the NSW Government removed the restriction on Funeral services, memorial services and after funeral gatherings from the general limit of 50 people, to instead ensure that all venues apply the one person per four square meter rule for all indoor services, with extra mourners being able to gather outside and view the service on monitors, where they are available. Social distancing guidelines of 1.5 metres between people MUST continue to occur whilst outside at all venues, including ALL burial services. As per Government regulations, you will be asked to supply your name and contact number before being permitted to attend a service, for tracing purposes.

Along with everyone, whilst we welcome the further easing of restrictions, it is important for everyone to have a clear understanding that for all indoor services, the number of people able to attend inside will be dictated by the size of the individual venue, as per the one person per four square meter rule. Effectively, this means that there is no change to the number of mourners allowed indoors, as this rule has been in place for several months now.
The changes have allowed for extra mourners to be able to gather outside these venues, and at burial services, providing that social distancing is maintained at all times. Please note that some venues have placed their own restrictions on numbers outside, to ensure that social distancing can be maintained in their available space. Free recordings and live streaming is available at many venues, or it can be arranged on your behalf where these services are not available.

Right through this pandemic, we and our team have been here to support all of our families through what has been a very difficult period, and like always, we will continue to do so with care and compassion. It is important that if you are in need of our services, or you have any questions about these latest changes, to contact us on 4722 8222 and we will gladly answer any questions, provide you with guidance, advice, and information about the individual numbers at all of our churches, chapels and other service facilities.
Best wishes to everyone,
Jim & Janet.

Visa Vigneswaran

Dear Jim and Jane,
Thank you for your professionalism and for everything you and your friendly staff did for my mum Parameswari Sivakumaran's funeral. We are grateful for the wonderful way in which you and your team handled the cremation followed by the collection of ashes at Pinegrove and obtaining death certificate with multiple certified copies by the JP. Everything went well and smooth given the Pandemic situation. I greatly appreciate that you were able to organize the pallbearers as that part was too stressful for us to deal with at that time.

From meeting you for the first time, couple of years ago in planning the funeral, to collection of mum from the hospital, assisting us with her dressing, contacting the florist for our requested wreaths with flower choices, to give mum a dignified funeral as per her and our wishes, you and your team were absolutely sensitive, supportive and caring in accommodating our cultural believes and needs.

It really did make a tremendous difference to our family that we were being looked after by someone with genuine integrity and humanity.

God bless you🙏🙏

With kind regards, Visa and Vicky
